Barrett is one of the most experienced guitar repairman and luthiers in Portland, Oregon. Barrett has chosen to focus on guitar and stringed instrument set up and repair. The instruments serviced include acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, mandolin and other folk and bluegrass instruments.

Barrett is a native Oregonian who grew up in Corvallis and attended Oregon State University. He began playing the guitar at age 16. While attending OSU he chose to build a guitar for a senior project. The success of the guitar project launched a life long passion for string instruments and for supporting players to maximize the playability and performance of their instrument.

Barrett has enjoyed a 40 year career as a Luthier and has developed a loyal following of Portland guitar players and teachers who turn to him for expert guitar repair, set up and advice to achieve peak instrument performance.
